Ron Schramm was born in Chicago (South side), he lives in Chicago (North side), and he photographs Chicago (all sides). With Chicago’s mix of brawn and beauty, the architecture here gives him, the photographer an unequaled selection of unique world-class buildings. The city’s location next to an inland sea adds another visual accent to this City on the Lake.
| Ron photographs Chicago and its’ architecture in a studied way. By that he means he has spent most of his professional life looking for vantage points, then photographing the architecture of Chicago when optimum conditions occur. This search keeps him busy year-round. His devotion to visual Chicago has yielded images that have been used in his own book, advertising, television, architectural, product, and just about anywhere a picture can be used. Recently, Ron gave a day long seminar for architectural students attending American Institute of Architects Forum in Chicago focusing on “vantage point”. |
